This is the emergency key that inserts into the Infiniti and Nissan remotes that are shaped like a football. Have a local locksmith cut the key to work your vehicle. Cutting will be very inexpensive if you have a key to copy. Vehicles which use the transponder version of this emergency insert key additionally require the locksmith to program the vehicle to accept the new key.
The purpose of this key is to get you into the vehicle when the battery in the remote or vehicle is dead. Also it connects your remote to the keychain.
