It doesn't matter where you got them, as long as they already start the engine when you turn the keys in the ignition. When you have two working keys you can program more yourself.

2008-2010 vehicles are onboard programmable, meaning the instructions come with the remote and you follow them easily to make the vehicle learn the new remote. 2011-2015 vehicles are not onboard programmable, this means you will need an automotive locksmith to program your van to accept new remotes

If your old remote is a XT-72LCD and the system in your car is RS-725LCD or RS-727LCD then the XT-33 will work. The XT-72LCD can also work on RS-720 and RS-520 which the XT-33 doesn't work with.

Use the Year Make Model search from our home page. This Ford 3 button remote is similar but not the same as the remote 2003 Ford Explorer uses.

The remote can be programmed to work the keyless entry system by a normal Joe. The vehicle needs to be programmed by a locksmith to accept the key's transponder in order to start the engine when you turn the key.
